Canon PowerShot Review Canon PowerShot digital camera reviews. Find more info on the E1 Canon PowerShot as well as the A470, A480, A590, A1000 and A1100 Canon PowerShot digital cameras. ELPH, D10, SD1100, SD990, G10, SX1, SX10, and more on Canon PowerShot reviews. Broken into 5 Categories the Canon PowerShot line of point and shoot digital camera’s is about as complete as anyone could wish for. No matter what your needs and wants are you will, without a doubt find it in this complete line of camera’s We will start off with the E-Series. Holding strong with the E1, starting at $199.99 the E1 is a solid easy to use 10MP camera that is perfect for fun outings with family or friends. Also great for the daughter wanting her first camera (it comes in fun pastel colors). Moving slowly up the line of products to the A-Series. At the lower end of the spectrum we begin with the A470 which is really the bare minimum that the PowerShot line has to offer at a steep $99.99 the A470 will provide you with 7.1MP and a 4.0x optical zoom, and an all around good experience, this little work horse may not boast the strongest of numbers and tech specs but is a simple camera that puts out excellent image quality, with only minor short falls with the battery life and not the greatest low-light performance. But hold tight we are moving up the spectrum to the A480 and A590 both are smart looking cameras in the $129.99 price range. The price may be the same but have some important differences if MP’s are what is important aim for the A480, but for those who know MP’s aren’t everything and can appreciate the small things such as focal length and shooting speed then the A590 is the better pick of the litter. And up the ladder we go to the A1000 IS and A1100 IS, lets face it for 199.99 for the A1100 IS is a good little camera the only problem there is, is that for 149.99 you get the exact same camera in the form of the A1000 IS, and just for trying to dupe us in to spending an extra $50 on...well nothing extra we are going to just move on to the higher end of the A-Series. OK so again it may look like we are getting treated like we are dumb the single difference in the A2000 IS and the A2100 IS is the MP’s but in this case we are going to put up with it and spend the extra $50 for the extra 2.1 MP the A2100 IS is going to give us. For the everyday user you will not notice a difference, really both are stellar performers, easy to use, and bring to the show ISO at 3200. But back to why we are spending the $50 extra, its because if i want to make an enormous print of one of my awesome photographs say a 5ft x 7ft print then that 2.1MP might just show less pixillation. ELPH, thats right folks those fun commercials we all know and love showing the unnamed tennis star taking great pictures of their amazing swing. The 11 ELPH’s really make up the heart of Canons point and shoot products. Ranging in price from $179.99 to $399.99 the ELPH line has something for everyone, the SD1100 IS is a great first time camera with enough power to learn how fun photography can be, to the SD990 IS that boasts more features and more MP’s than most starter Digital SLR’s, you can not go wrong with any in this line. Another lone player in the D-Series is the D10 priced at $329.99 smartly, this rugged work horse has very little to complain about, maybe better zoom, but really thats about it and besides its waterproof and freeze proof so zoom snobs can be snobs somewhere else. For the High-End line of PowerShot cameras we are going to start at the top. G10, SX1 IS, and SX10 IS, the names just looks like some high octane sports car, and as far as point and shoots go they are, each rocking a stellar wide-angle lens, it all comes down to MP’s, Focal Length, and ISO rating. Of course you are going to pay handsomely for them 599.99 for the SX1 IS, but hey for the professional or serious amateur that needs to add a point and shoot with some muscle its worth every penny and if $599.99 is to steep how does $399.99 sound? The SX10 IS is no slouch, matching the SX1 IS tit for tat in all but MP’s. So the choice is yours.
